Philosophy and Approach
I see each canvas as a total expression of an idea; making the work one-of-a-kind, usually never reapproached again. I believe the artist should always grow forward----> striving to be at their most present when creating; giving their fullest application to a unified, complete intent.
Images are visionary in nature for me: I see a finished work initially, painting it lastly- as an afterwards experience of translation. Both aspects of creating are rewarding to me: the initial perception as well as the physical challenge to hold its essence while recreating it.
Spacial in thinking, I like to create works that are tactile experiences. When a canvas is created, it holds a spirit between its layers. My work attempts to reinforce the value of real-time engagement. Virtual reality only tells half the story.
Art is like candy when the treasure-like qualities of paint are captured: I like to focus on the complete canvas..taking the images relationship into account, edge-to-edge. In return, it creates a world of sensation to visit again and again.
